Storage Tips
- If storing wool items, use cedar chips or mothballs to prevent moth damage.
- Make sure all items are clean prior to storing to prevent damage. This includes clothing, furniture, dishes, and household goods.
- Appliances must be thoroughly clean and dry. Keep refrigerator and freezer doors slightly open. Remove and discard vacuum cleaner bags.
- Check with your homeowners or rental insurance to see if your policy covers your belongings while in storage. If not, we can refer you to agencies offering storage insurance.
- CAUTION: According to law, you may not store materials that are hazardous or combustible such as gasoline, cleaning fluids, paint, etc. Drain gasoline from mowers, power tools, etc.
- Do not store food items which could attract rodents or pests and consider using pest repellents such as decon, moth balls, etc.
